Video is powerful. It shows products in action and brings brands to life.

But some stories can’t be captured with a camera. Internal systems. Invisible technology. Abstract workflows. Restricted environments. That’s where animation becomes more than a visual effect — it’s a storytelling tool.

Animation plays a strategic role in how we communicate brand messaging. It turns complex ideas into clear, visual experiences that are easy to understand and hard to forget. In fact, visual content can increase comprehension by up to 400%. And when customers remember your brand, you can increase conversions, sales leads, and brand affinity.

So beyond the visual polish or surface-level effects, here’s how animation helps you stand out.

Reveal what makes your product tick

Many products’ value proposition is in unique technology or engineering that’s invisible to the naked eye. Animation brings this to the forefront, even if it’s embedded deep inside. This spotlight on how the product works can also highlight key features that are critical for sales and marketing efforts.

Example:

Speed Queen, which manufactures high-quality laundry appliances, wanted to showcase the quality construction and engineering of its machines, giving its retailers a way to understand the product’s technology so they can sell it more confidently to customers.

We created an “explore” site featuring exploded animations of the machines, highlighting all the features and the high-quality craftsmanship of Speed Queen appliances. Now, instead of just looking at the outside of the machine and trusting the “quality” brand message, retailers and customers can see what quality actually looks like.

Create realistic environments without real-world limitations

Sometimes filming the product isn’t the challenge; it’s securing the location. Animation can place a product into realistic, fully controlled environments, helping tell the full story of how it will function in the real world. If a potential customer can envision themselves using the product in a real setting, they’re that much more likely to convert.

Example:

Our client Surfacide needed to showcase their Helios+ UVC microbial reduction technology for hospital settings—including operating rooms, ICU units, patient rooms and recovery rooms—but those are almost impossible locations to shoot. With initial direction based on stock images, we rendered full 3D environments where Helios+ emitters are most commonly used. This allowed us to have full control of the space, including creating “aerial” shots to illustrate the comprehensive coverage of the devices.

Turn complex processes into clear stories

Beyond practical products, animation can tell the story of intangible services and processes, too. In fact, that’s arguably where animation shines the brightest. It can bring to life what otherwise can’t be seen.

Whether it’s a creative rendering of a software or service in action, or a flow chart or graphics explaining a complex process with clear visuals, when audiences can visualize a process, they understand it faster — and remember it longer.

Example:

Lightspeed—a leading developer of dealership management software—consistently has updates and new features to its offering. When we helped them announce their text marketing tool, which helps dealers send marketing text messages and emails to their customers, we animated it with a flurry of visual “emails” being sent out when the dealer hit “send” on their phone app.

While it doesn’t showcase the software interface, it brings the benefit of the software to life through creative visuals. It answers the question of “what does the software actually do for me?” Interface aesthetics are important, but the problem the software solves matters more.

Drive results you can see

When you can highlight features, simulate real-world applications, and visualize complex processes, all with ultimate visual control, your customers can better understand the value of your brand. These animation assets can equip your sales team or power your website or event with content that truly makes an impact.
