I am the director of our video | motion| photo department. There are many times that through our roles here at EPIC, we are on stage. We’re performing. So I can appreciate what my kids are doing on their stages.

One of the cool things about working at EPIC is there are occasions when the paths of my family and my work intersect. We’ve got three kids. Our kids have been involved in youth theater in Milwaukee for 12 or 13 years. Lyle finished his bachelor’s degree in jazz guitar performance from NYU. Angel has initiated their four years in the Bachelor of Fine Arts program for theater at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. And Alice is a sophomore in high school at Golda Meir, where she is active in their theater group as well as First Stage.

Angel was performing in a show, and at the time we were working on a campaign for UPAF, and they asked us to go and record this group of actors at First Stage. And so to see Angel as a part of that crew was kind of cool. We’ve actually also used a recording that Lyle created as the music bed for another client.

I tell people all the time that the coolest part of my job is the people I work with—to be a part of this family here at EPIC. The other piece that I really value is the relationships that we have with our partner clients. We go in with a big task, and at the end of the day, we get to laugh. We get to make some pretty cool creative things, get to look back and say, “Hey, that was really special.”
